This category lists typefaces you can use in client and product work, each with a page that records the license we confirmed against the font's own repository or Google Fonts listing, the formats it ships in, and the jobs it handles well or badly. Most reviewed entries here are released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows commercial use, embedding and modification but forbids selling the font files on their own and reserves the original font names for unmodified versions.

A font page answers three questions before you commit: can this be used where you need it (web, app, logo, merch, print), does it cover the languages and weights the project needs, and how does it behave at the sizes you will set it. Entries we have not yet checked line by line are listed separately below and are marked as unverified on their own pages, so the license line there is a lead to check, not a clearance.

If the decision is about licensing rather than taste, start with the guide to commercial font licensing; for logo and merch work there are separate guides, because those uses raise rules the general guide does not cover.

A quick way to compare the entries below: decide the job first (long reading text, interface labels, a headline face, or a logo), then check three things on each page. Coverage, meaning the weights, italics and scripts you need, because a family that lacks a true italic or the characters of a second language forces a fallback that looks wrong. Format, meaning whether a variable version ships, which can replace several static files on the web. And naming, because the OFL reserves some font names, so a subsetted or modified copy may need to be renamed before you redistribute it inside an app or template.
